A keyboard is one of the most important parts of a computer. It is an input device, which means it helps us enter data and commands into the computer. We use a keyboard to type letters, numbers, and symbols. It looks like a typewriter and has many small buttons called keys.
A standard keyboard has about 104 keys. These keys are divided into different groups:-
Alphabet keys (A–Z) :- Used for typing letters.
Number keys (0–9) :- Used for typing numbers.

Arrow keys :- Used to move the cursor in different directions.
Control keys :- Like Shift, Ctrl, Alt, and Enter, used for special commands.
Space bar :- Used to give space between words.
The keyboard helps us write documents, send emails, play games, and give instructions to the computer.
💻 Classification of Keyboard :-
Keyboards can be classified in different ways :-
1. Based on Connection :-
Wired Keyboard :- Connected to the computer
with a wire.
Wireless Keyboard :- Works without a wire, using Bluetooth or a USB receiver.
2. Based on Layout:
QWERTY Keyboard :- The most common type, named after the first six letters on the top row.
AZERTY Keyboard :- Used in some countries like France.
DVORAK Keyboard :-Designed to make typing faster.
3. Based on Use :-
Standard Keyboard :- For normal typing and everyday use.
Gaming Keyboard :- Has extra keys and lights for gamers.
Virtual Keyboard :- Appears on touch screens like phones and tablets.
